The georgette is a very special fabric. Its origin might be French; the name is the abbreviation of crepe georgette, from French crepe (crinkled) and from the name of the tailor Georgette de la Plante who invented it.
The lightweight and breathable fabric has plain weave with a slightly raw surface and it is commonly used to manufacture women garments: skirts, shirts, lingerie, scarfs, bows and wedding dresses. Preferably made of silk, but also of artificial fibers, georgette shirts softly mold the feminine body, while its freshness and breathability make them perfect for summer season.
Thanks to the extreme versatility of georgette garments, 7camicie presents this textile in combination with Italian collar shirts with metal details, like small studs, for a lively and young look, or with Korean collar and Imperial-style bow in the tones of ancient rose and burgundy red, for an elegant and sophisticated look that never goes unnoticed.
